Z19DTH manifold plug set
Material: Aluminum PA6.
The most common failure of the vortex flaps in Z19DTH engines is a weak seal on the flaps, or damage to the vortex flap control rod at the point where the flap connects to the rod. The plastic that connects the flap with the control rod could be broken. Symptoms of this failure are separation of the tendon from the flaps. As a consequence, it may result in increased fuel consumption, smoke, power drop which is strongly felt especially in the lower range until the turbocharger starts building boost.
General assembly rules
The repair kit consists of swirl flap block off caps made of high-quality aluminum, together with BONDLOC sealant, it is necessary for proper installation.
The assembly consists in removing the swirl flaps together with the flap control rod. We only leave the cable drive. With the supplied sealant applied to the block off caps, you press them into the holes from the removed flap. As a result, we get a very strong seal.
